Al worked for a year after graduating from Riverside and
then entered the US Air Force in 1962. In the Air Force, Al worked as a Radio
Operator, an Administrative Specialist, and then as a Physical Therapy
Technician. He also became a Water Safety Instructor, teaching beginners,
advanced, adults, and life saving. During his Air Force years, he was assigned
in Europe, various US locations, and in Asia. Along the way, he got married and had three
children. His first daughter, Karen, is presently married and in the Air Force,
His son, Mike, is married and working as an EMT and volunteer fireman, and
Terri, his second daughter, is still single and out there looking. His marriage
did not endure.
After retiring from the Air Force in 1985, Al went to Daemen College in Buffalo and majored in Physical Therapy. He is presently working as a Physical Therapist and lives in East Gadsden, Alabama.
Al is now remarried to Nancy and they are in the process of settling into their new home atop a small hill on 37 acres that has a MAGNIFICENT view for many miles around.
They share a strong interest in dancing that includes ballroom, smooth, and
rhythm. They also truly enjoy the working of the land around their house. Nancy
worked for United Technology for 15 years and plans on returning to school in
the very near future. Their true love is their purebred Siberian husky that can
absorb all the love and attention that they can give him.
Al has been an avid bowler throughout his life and continues with that passion. Restoring classic autos is another avocation of Al's. He is currently in the process of restoring a 1969 MGB convertible.
He has very fond memories of his years at Riverside where he made many friends, learned a lot about life and its consequences. He regrets that he has lost touch with his RHS classmates and is highly excited about the reunion. And, if you can believe this, he actually misses the SNOW that is so much a part of Buffalo winters.
