| The 1991 "Skipper" | August, 1996 |
After leaving RHS, Chuck received an Associate Degree in
Electrical Technology from Erie County Technical Institute. He then studied
Electrical Engineering at New York State University in Buffalo. In 1964, Chuck
married Donna Siwek (RHS ’61). They had two children together, Pam, in 1967,
and Geoffrey, in 1968. Together, the two of them made Chuck a double grandfather
in 1999 by each having a baby boy.
Charlie and
Donna decided to go in different directions in 1982. He and his current wife,
Eileen, got together in 1988 and finally made it official by getting married in
1997.
Charlie’s
career began with Electronic Automation Systems on Grand Island from 1964 to
1975, and then in Atlanta, Georgia. Between 1980 and 1985, he struck out on his
own doing some independent consulting. Then from 1985 to 1995 he was in direct
sales and and served as a marketing manager with Bailey Controls Company for
their products in the Pulp and Paper Industry. While with Bailey, he was
transferred from Atlanta to Wisconsin in 1988. In 1995, he moved on to briefly
do Systems Integration work for Orion Inc. in Wisconsin before deciding again to
pursue opportunities as an independent Sales Representative in the process
industry. Never one to be afraid to change his mind, Charlie has decided to go
back to the corporate route and is currently working for the Foxboro Instrument
Co.
Charlie’s “Home” is truly his “Castle”! In 1993, he purchased 17
beautiful acres that front right on Lake Michigan. He subsequently has had a
spacious 4200 sq. ft. home built on it that he and Eileen have a ball running
around in. He is also a relatively recent buyer of a Harley Davidson 1200 cc
Sportster that is a true pleasure to ride. He finds it a lot tamer than the
hobby he had in his younger years --- racing sports cars. He’s given up the
racing, but he still participates in the sport by being a “safety worker” at
the local track. All in all,
Charley is having a good time, but admits that he’s eager to reach the
retirement threshold, which he says is just a few years away.
