| The 1961 "Skipper" | October, 1998 |
After RHS graduation, Jack earned a BS degree in Health and Physical Education at SUNY Brockport in 1965. He married Carol Heim (from Springville, N.Y.) in 1966. From 1967 through 1970, Jack served in the Army. During his Army tour, he spent time in Fort Dix in New Jersey, Fort Lee in Virginia, and Fort Gordon in Georgia. He also spent one year on duty in Thailand during the Vietnam War.
Jack and Carol have two children. Their daughter Kimberlee, was born in 1968, and their son Jason was born in 1971. Both Kimberlee and Jason have followed in their dad's footsteps and are currently physical education teachers.
Following his stint in the Army, Jack taught Health and Physical Education at the Pembroke Central Schools for 31 years until his retirement in 1996. He also coached baseball (25 years), basketball, softball, track, and cross-country for many years. Jack has been officiating for high school and college basketball and volleyball for 20 years. Carol, like Jack, was also a teacher and taught at Pembroke for 24 years until she retired in 1996.
Spare time (which he now has some of) is spent enjoying hunting, fishing, traveling and dabbling at landscaping. We shouldn't forget the time he spends with his two grandchildren, Emilee and Nicholas. The Dressels have become very enamored of Florida for those times of the year when Buffalo's weather is less than desirable. In 1997, they purchased a winter home there and plan to make good use of it during the next 30 years
