Bill's Comments

Very good acting by Tom Cruise and Kurt Russell cannot save this VERY confusing and confused film. They should tell you up front that this is a science fiction movie and not a drama (as it appears). I'm not sure that even that would help though. The story was just a bizarre jumble until they start to explain it at the end. Then, when they explained it, I just said --- "Who cares!" It was a difficult acting job for Tom Cruise because he gets maimed in an auto accident and winds up wearing a mask. He carried it off well. Kurt Russell plays a psychologist and does an excellent job of that. Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz just play pretty women captivated by Tom Cruise. Those roles were not as demanding. If you only go to the movies occasionally, I recommend that you don't  waste your time seeing this one.
