Bill's Comments

I've never seen Denzel Washington do a bad job in a movie. His record is still intact even though he is BAD in this one. By that I mean that he plays a "Bad Guy", even worse -- a bad cop. The movie is well done, even though it represents the seamiest side of our society. It is no wonder to me that we often stereotype black people, when, so often, we see these kinds of characterizations in the movies. Believe me, I would no more walk into Denzel's "hood" than I would book a dinner reservation with Osama bin Laden.

The movie is full of action and violence and is directed very well. I enjoyed it for its acting and production values, but it is bound to leave you somewhat depressed for its characterization of our society.
