| Synopsis |
| IDirector David Mamet's STATE AND MAIN--about a movie crew that creates quite a stir when it begins filming in a quiet New England town--is a comic romp that pokes fun at Hollywood highbrows. Joe White (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is the screenwriter who heads up the crew, a man with traditional, puritanical values. When his lead actor (Alec Baldwin) begins a steamy affair with a local high school girl (Julia Stiles), White is thrown for a loop. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast and crew have gone wild, resulting in one silly, chaotic episode after the next. |

Bill's Review This movie had many good actors and some funny lines, but it never provided us with any reason to care about the plot. Karen and I were both bored stiff. We could not recommend it to anyone. |
