Bill's Comments

This is a real tear-jerker of a movie that I liked a lot. Kevin Kline's character is diagnosed with terminal cancer and decides that he has some specific things he wants to do before he dies. Mainly, he wants to work on his relationship with his son and see if he can get the rebellious lad back on track. Perhaps it is a familiar plot in many ways, but I thought that the script and the acting were both very good and I became very involved in it. The film covers many relationships, not just dad-son, and thus offers something for everyone who has ever struggled in their relationships (and who hasn't?). If you're emotional and sentimental, you'll like it. If you're cynical, you probably won't. It's your choice.
