SACRAMENTO POLICE
The RESERVE POLICE OFFICER position is an un-represented volunteer classification. Reserve police officers serve at the discretion of the Chief of Police and have full peace officer powers while on duty. Reserve Police officers are used to supplement, in various capacities, the department's 600 full-time sworn officers. Our reserve program affords the opportunity to enter the world of law enforcement. We have many reserves that also have successful full-time careers.
